Companies House is rolling out mandatory identity verification for all company directors, PSCs, and anyone filing on behalf of a company.

 

What’s changing?

 

From Autumn 2025, no filings will be accepted unless the individuals involved have completed this ID check.

 

✅ Once verified, you’ll receive a unique code from Companies House — this will be required for all future submissions. No code, no filing.

How to get verified:

 

1. Go to: https://signin.account.gov.uk 

2. Sign in or create your GOV.UK One Login

3. Follow the steps to verify your ID (passport/driving licence + selfie)

4. Save your verification code — you’ll need it!
