Anchor Zubair

Between us we have decades of experience and as Theodore Roosevelt said:

Fairman Harris in its current form was established in April 2016 however our original firm Fairman Law was established in 1985.

 

One of the founding partners of Fairman Law, Fateh Ramji, still works with us today as a consultant so we can draw upon a wealth of experience.  His specialisms include tax investigations, insolvency and IVA’s.

 

Fairman Law has had various other partners along the way including Nizar Walli (who passed away in 2002) and Ike Mawji who remains a partner of the practice today.

 

Ike has been with the practice since its inception in 1985 and specialises in supporting small companies grow to their full potential and more recently, in probate matters.

​

In 2006, Fahreen Meghani joined the practice, having qualified with KPMG and bringing with her significant experience in company and charity audits as well as corporate tax.  Fahreen’s focus in the practice is on corporate tax planning, restructures and other complex tax matters.

​

In 2010 we purchased a further practice, N Harris & Co, based in Clapham and established over 50 years at that time.  Shortly after, Shafiq Meghani joined the practice as partner bringing with him a wealth of knowledge in general tax but his key asset being his exposure in banking.  This allows Shafiq the significant upper hand of blending accounts with a strong commercial understanding, demonstrating that business is more than just the numbers.  He specialises in virtual FD services, IHT planning and EIS/SEIS companies.

This combined with our strong belief in lifelong learning is what allows us to support you and your business to achieve your goals.

Partner

​

Shafiq has worked in the business and finance arena for over 20 years.  His experience spans all areas of business consultancy from start ups and business finance right through to succession planning and business turnaround.  He has extensive experience in accountancy and tax but prides himself on being more than just an accountant to his clients. 

​

Shafiq previously worked in the voluntary sector as a Consultant and Trainer for over 10 years, working with organisations including Charities Evaluation Services, Comic Relief and BBC Children in Need amongst others.

 

In his spare time Shafiq plays football and is a dad to two young children.

​

Fun Fact:  Shafiq successfully survived taking a Tesla around the Nurburgring in under 10 minutes!

Fahreen Meghani

Partner

 

Fahreen has worked with various accounting firms since she began her professional life including Barnes Roffe and Chantery Vellacott DFK.  She is experienced in all areas of accounting, audit and tax.

In her spare time Fahreen enjoys travelling and spending time with her family.

 

Fun Fact: Fahreen has travelled to as many countries as is her age! (Unfortunately we can’t reveal her age so will leave you to guess that one!)

Loreen Brown

Support Team

​

Loreen joined the practice in 2012, supporting both the partners and the staff in all areas of administration. She ensures all client matters are dealt with diligently. In her spare time, Loreen has been studying the AAT to develop her bookkeeping knowledge and has completed up to level 4.  Loreen is currently on maternity leave, looking after her second daughter 15 years after her first.

Fun Fact: Loreen is a keen dancer and instructs Zumba classes.

Shamsher Ahmed

Senior

​

Shamsher has extensive experience of working in both industry and practice handling a wide variety of clients from different sectors. His areas of expertise are accounting, audit and tax. He particularly enjoys dealing with more complex accounting and auditing issues.  He likes to build professional relationships with clients as it helps with his understanding of what this client needs and how he can help more effectively.

​

In his spare time Shamsher enjoys playing cricket, badminton and snooker.

​

Fun Fact: Shamsher has won a silver medal for his school in a karate competition and scored 80 runs in just 30 balls while playing a cricket match from his College.

John Ntow

Senior

​

John completed his ACCA in 2007 and worked with a number of colleges as a lecturer before moving into Accountancy practice. John is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and has an MBA in Finance and joined the team in 2015. His current role is Accounts Senior and is responsible for client services including accounts, audits, tax and bookkeeping. He is highly valued for his open, friendly and down to earth manner and his ability to put people at ease. John also has over 4 years experience working in industry, whilst he was an Accounts Officer with Shell Oil.

​

Fun Fact: John is a choir conductor and is currently taking piano lessons.

Zubair Qadir

Senior

​

Zubair is an Associate Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and holds an MBA (Financial Management) degree. He has great experience in accounts, tax, and payroll advisory departments. Zubair has also an impressive background in the digital accounting environment, with a keen interest in cloud accounting. He is well versed in and has delivered training courses in various software products such as Sage, QuickBooks, Payroll Manager and Tax Calc.

​

His interests include keeping himself fit, travelling, music, and supporting Arsenal.

 

Fun Facts: Just finding that person who said ‘accounting is an art’.

​

Briselda Shpata

Accounts Junior

​

Briselda joined the practice the last Spring and has quickly become an integral member of the team. She is handling several duties including bookkeeping and VAT returns, accounts preparation and auditing.

Her education background includes a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Master of Science on Accounting and Auditing. She is a part qualified accountant and actively working towards full membership at ACCA.

​

Briselda has previous experience in retail industry where she has been involved as an assistant accountant and in construction as a financial controller.

She likes cycling, volleyball and reading business books. She is a unique type of accountant: results- oriented, tech savvy, empathetic and very hardworking.

​

Fun fact: She used to write poems and has published a book when in secondary school. As time went by, she shifted her passion to math and crunching numbers.

Accounts Junior

​

Sandra is a Bookkeeper who has recently joined our team having previously worked in various bookkeeping roles for smaller firms over the past few years. She is currently studying her ACCA and aspires to develop her accounts and audit skills.

​

Sandra is a retired Military Soldier who has served 6 years in the arny where she worked as Military Police Administrator.

​

In her Spare time Sandra attends meetings with the Jamaica Ex-Soldiers Association and enjoys going to the Gym

Accounts Junior

​

Tahir is a recent Accounting and Finance graduate from the University of Oxford Brookes. He has been interested within the field of accounting from a young age and is currently studying for his ACCA qualification. His recent focus has been within personal taxation, assisting with the preparation of self assessment returns.

​

In his spare time Tahir enjoys playing football and table tennis.

​

Fun Fact: Tahir has appeared on TV as an extra in the Bill
